Re-Connect Counselling Services
Re-Connect Counselling Services offer therapeutic support to adults and young people. My aim is to provide a safe, respectful space where you will feel listened to and heard. I provide a creative process, with a view to you reconnecting, moving towards understanding, and acceptance, using techniques that best suit your needs.
As qualified Therapeutic Counsellor, and a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists. I have experience working with bereavement, abuse, loss, sexual identity, and relationship break down.
My goal is to support and challenge you in reconnecting with yourself and others.
Offering 2 locations: Harrogate, HG1 and Leeds LS16.
I also have a rural base giving clients the unique opportunity to engage with walk and talk therapy, experiencing acceptance and reconnecting with the world around use and the impact it has on us.
Individual face to face therapy sessions are offered from two locations, 1 in central Harrogate, 5 minutes from public rail and bus links. The second a rural location where you can experience the impact being surrounded by nature can have on reconnecting with yourselves and the world around us. We also offer telephone and online sessions, for those who find it difficult to access face to face therapy.
We offer support to schools, in developing on site counselling services and support for both pupils and staff. The Department for Education (DfE) updated Mental Health and Behaviour in Schools (Nov. 2018) clearly identifies the importance of creating a whole school ethos of supporting the needs of pupils with Mental Health issues. "Schools have an important role to play in supporting the mental health and wellbeing of children by developing whole school approaches tailored to their particular needs, as well as considering the needs of individual pupils."(DfE)Nov18
Mindfulness is a whole body-mind state of awareness that involves ‘tuning in’ to the present moment, with openness and curiosity, instead of ‘tuning out’ from experience. Mindfulness is a state of being fully awake to life – being aware of the present moment. Focusing your attention on the present, rather than thinking about the past or worrying about the future- which is often our brain’s default mode. Using creative mediums we explore feelings and reconnect with the inner child.
